Your action needed in support of S. 702, The State Court Interpreters Grant Program Act.
S. 702, The State Court Interpreters Grant Program Act, sponsored by Senator Herb Kohl (D-WS), would authorize a new federal grant program to provide states with funding to develop, implement and expand state court interpreter programs. The bill has been approved by the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee, but enactment is far from assured. We need your help to ensure that this worthy bill becomes U.S. Law.
In an effort to increase cosponsorship, and effectively build momentum, we are asking advocates, interpreters, state court administrators/officials, state court judges and others to reach out to their respective senators.
To make it easy for you, we've provided a sample letter (download DOC version or the PDF version) that you can use to contact your senators. Remember that the sample letter is only a suggestion, and any personal comments you might make in the letter will help to improve its impact.
