NAJIT 48th Annual Conference

Justice Speaks Every Language: Every Voice Heard, Every Right Protected

The 2027 Conference Program Is Taking Shape!

We're building an exciting educational program for NAJIT's 48th Annual Conference, and we invite you to help shape it!

This year's theme, Justice Speaks Every Language: Every Voice Heard, Every Right Protected, celebrates the vital role judiciary interpreters and translators play in ensuring that language is never a barrier to justice.

For 2027, we're making a special effort to expand the conversation beyond traditionally represented languages and bring greater visibility to languages of lesser diffusion. While English and Spanish remain important parts of our profession, the interpreting and translation community encompasses an extraordinary range of languages, cultures, and experiences that deserve a place in our educational programming.

We want to hear from professionals working across different languages, specialties, and settings. Whether your expertise is in a widely spoken language, an Indigenous language, American Sign Language, or a language less frequently represented at professional conferences, your perspective can help broaden the conversation.

Help Shape the Program — Call for Proposals Now Open!

We're inviting interpreters, translators, educators, researchers, and other language-access professionals to share their expertise, practical experiences, and fresh perspectives.

We're especially interested in proposals that explore emerging challenges, innovative practices, professional development, language access, and the unique experiences of interpreters and translators working in languages of lesser diffusion.

Have an idea for a session or workshop? We'd love to hear from you!

If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us at events@najit.org.

Conference Sessions & Panel Discussion

The learning and conversations continue Sunday with another day of educational sessions, giving attendees additional opportunities to explore relevant topics, exchange ideas, and connect with professionals representing different languages, backgrounds, and areas of expertise.

As we approach the conclusion of the conference, we're planning a special panel discussion that will bring together diverse voices and perspectives to explore important issues facing our profession. We hope this conversation will encourage thoughtful dialogue, inspire new ideas, and leave attendees with valuable insights to carry forward.

Sunday will bring our time together in Salt Lake City to a close, but the knowledge, connections, and conversations will continue long after the conference ends.
